HOW TO - ​   Protect an Individual tree (based on the Georgian High Street Tree)
Use Google maps and find the tree you wish to protect (with a TPO) from above - use the Satellite mode.
Click on the aerial view of the tree as accurately as possible.
Under the position two long numbers appear which gives the Map Co-ordinates.
Copy long reference numbers 51.088895, -0.708881   See Image
  • Record the type of Tree (Oak, Ash, Beech, Birch, Sycamore etc); special features (bats etc) and location (field, road, garden etc).
  • Take a snapshot of the tree from the side (or take a real Photo) add an indicator of which tree if not obvious which one.
  • I​​f tree is on a road click on the little yellow man to get a Street View (road shows in Blue if available ) 
  • State why the tree requires protection, for instance - The tree is clearly visible from a public place and add value to the streetscene and local landscape

HOW TO - ​   Protect a Group of Trees   - The same applies to any row of trees, it just requires the start and stop points
Use Google maps and find the trees you wish to protect (with a TPO) from above - use the Satellite mode.
Click on aerial view of the trees as accurately as possible.
Under the position two long numbers appear which gives the Map Co-ordinates.
Copy long reference numbers at the start of a row to the end of the row.
generating  51.088837, -0.708917   to  51.088950, -0.708774  (these numbers are quite accurate)​​
